A short animated video for a fast rollout.

This performance management training needed to be rolled out quickly. I also wanted to hold managers’ attention and keep the message clear, so I decided that a short animated training video was the best approach. Vyond, WellSaid Labs, and Camtasia supported the animation, narration, and final edit.

01 · CHALLENGE

Deliver quickly and keep managers engaged.

The deliverable was time sensitive and needed a fast rollout. At the same time, I wanted the training to hold managers’ attention as it explained the performance rating system. The central design challenge was choosing a format that balanced the delivery timeline with an engaging learning experience.

02 · HOW I DESIGNED IT

Choose a short animated video.

I chose a short animated training video to balance the rollout urgency with the need to keep managers engaged. The format let me focus the explanation of performance ratings, using animated workplace scenes, narration, and on-screen text to guide viewers through the message.

A short animated training video for managers.

The final deliverable is a short, narrated video explaining how performance is rated at PRA Group. It brings Vyond animation, WellSaid Labs voiceover, and Camtasia editing into one focused learning resource. The video above shows the finished visual approach and audio presentation.

05 · RESULT

Strong viewing completion and less confusion.

Viewing data showed that most managers watched the video from beginning to end. There was also less confusion about how employees should be evaluated. Together, these findings supported the decision to use a short animated video for this time-sensitive training need.
